ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Bridgestone HosePower is expanding its hose business in the U.S. Pacific Northwest by acquiring Fittings Inc., a Seattle-based hydraulic and industrial hose sales and service company.

Bridgestone HosePower said the acquisition would make it one of the largest networks specializing in hose sales and service in the United States. The acquisition brings Bridgestone HosePower to 40 U.S. locations and one in Mexico.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

“This acquisition broadens our presence in the country and enhances Bridgestone HosePower’s leadership in the market, increasing our product offerings and expanding our portfolio of value-added services,” said J. Palmer Clarkson, president and CEO of Bridgestone HosePower.

Bridgestone HosePower is an indirect subsidiary of Tokyo-based Bridgestone Corp., which says it’s the largest tire and rubber company in the world.

Fittings Inc. was established in 1960 as a distributor of hydraulic-industrial hoses, fittings and accessories. It expanded to include much of the Pacific Northwest, according to the announcement. Fittings also is involved in international trade, and its staff has experience with specialty fabrication and kit assembly.

Under the agreement, Fittings’ 16 employees will be offered positions within HosePower, including former owners, Douglas Kennedy and Murray MacLean.

“We are excited to join Bridgestone HosePower to integrate our regional footprint and expertise into a larger organization,” said Kennedy, president of Fittings Inc.
