Cargomatic Cargomatic, which provides a technology platform that connects shippers and carriers, has expanded its service to Northern California.
The company’s platform uses Web and mobile applications to help shippers find nearby local truckers with available capacity.
After several months of testing, the service now is available in the San Francisco Bay area, including Oakland and San Jose.
“The San Francisco Bay area is the heart of technological innovation and also an enormous transportation hub, so bringing Cargomatic here was a natural fit,” Cargomatic co-founder and CEO Jonathan Kessler said.
Cargomatic, based in Venice, California, also is active in the country’s two largest metro regions — Southern California and New York City — where service was launched in January 2014 and August 2015, respectively.
The company said its service is designed to help local shippers secure hard-to-find truck capacity, thus expediting delivery times and boosting profitability for shippers and carriers. All transactions are digital, which eliminates time-consuming paperwork, Cargomatic said.
