CVSA to Use Roadcheck as Educational Event

Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance official said the upcoming Roadcheck 2004, a massive three-day event during which the law enforcement association concentrates on the inspection of commercial vehicles, would also be used to educate drivers about pressing safety issues.

“This year, safety belts are a big deal,” Steve Keppler, CVSA’s director of policy and programs, said. “Last year, it was hours-of-service and cargo securement.”

CVSA is a coalition of commercial vehicle law enforcement agencies in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The alliance said that during the International Roadcheck event, scheduled for June 8-10, approximately 60,000 vehicles would be inspected.



The organization’s officials said that for their 17th annual Roadcheck to succeed, association staff and member agencies had to put forth a great deal of effort.
