CVSA said 21.7% of the vehicles inspected in the United States during the June 6-8 event received out-of-service citations, down from 22.5% in 2005, with the main issues being brakes out of adjustment, broken lights and tire and wheel problems.

Citations for trucks hauling hazardous materials also fell to 18.2% from 19.3% a year ago and CVSA said it issued a record number of decals — 30,950 — to commercial vehicles passing without any defects.
