Con-way Inc. said it has named Joseph Dagnese president of its truckload unit.

Dagnese replaces Saul Gonzalez, who will remain with Con-way Truckload in an executive staff role. Dagnese comes from Con-way’s logistics unit, Menlo Worldwide Logistics, where he was most recently vice president for international operations.

“Joe Dagnese is a respected transportation and logistics executive who has made significant contributions in leadership roles throughout his career,” Con-way CEO Douglas Stotlar said in a Feb. 10 statement. “We are pleased to have him assume this new role, and I’m confident his leadership skills and lean operations expertise will be a key asset to Con-way Truckload’s future growth and success.”

Dagnese has worked for Menlo since 1995 and has led its international operations since September. Before that, he worked for Procter & Gamble Co. in transportation operations.

Con-way ranks No. 3 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
