Daimler Truck AG announced effective July 1 Andreas Gorbach will lead its new Truck Technology Group.
That group is focused on all essential technology and powertrain activities amid the increased speed toward carbon dioxide-neutral transportation and the accelerating development of software and connectivity.
Gorbach is currently CEO of the fuel cell joint venture Cellcentric with Volvo Group.

The Truck Technology Group also will be responsible for related vehicle software, electronics and global purchasing.
Stephan Unger will lead the new in-house financial services unit at Daimler Truck AG, effective July1, as well.
Unger has been on the board of Daimler Mobility AG since 2012, and was previously responsible for finance and digital mobility solutions.
The moves come as Daimler Truck prepares for its spinoff from Daimler Group and its listing on the Frankfurt stock exchange in late 2021.
“The new business structure gives Daimler Trucks & Buses the best of both worlds, maximum customer proximity and entrepreneurship in our regions and maximum, focused engineering power for future technologies,” Daimler Truck CEO Martin Daum said in a release.
Also, Frank Reintjes, who was previously responsible for the global powertrain division, will shift under the realignment to become a senior executive adviser to Daum until the end of the year. — Transport Topics
