Truckload carrier Dart Transit Co. said it has assigned seven tractors powered by compressed natural gas to dedicated service for Andersen Window Corp.
The tractors are part of a fleet of 31 units that operate on a dedicated route between Andersen’s window and door factory in Bayport, Minn., and a consolidation center in Menomonie, Wis., Dart Transit spokesman Steve Gundale said.
To make the new Andersen Window service work, a new CNG fueling station was installed at a truck stop near Andersen’s facility in Menomonie.
The facility is the result of a partnership between Dart, Andersen, the U.S. Oil division of U.S. Venture Inc., Breakthrough Fuel and the Cedar Country Cenex Cooperative truck stop, the company said in a statement. Xcel Energy is the CNG supplier.
Dart Transit is ranked No. 51 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
