DHL Supply Chain, ExxonMobil Partner on New Texas Logistics Center
DHL Supply Chain cut the ribbon, along with ExxonMobil Global Services, on a 160,000-square-foot center in Baytown, Texas, that will serve as a regional distribution center for the maintenance, repair and operations for six refineries and chemical plants in the Lone Star state.
ExxonMobil expects the new logistics center will reduce supply chain costs by 15% by eliminating regional inventory duplications and further optimizing the company’s supply chain. The facility will be fully operational by mid-December.
“Helping our valued partners like ExxonMobil optimize their supply chains is our No. 1 priority at DHL Supply Chain,” said Terry Berrns, DHL Supply Chain’s director of operations. “We are confident that this new logistics center will take the company’s supply chain operations to the next level.”
“DHL Supply Chain knows our business and our industry, which is why we’ve partnered with them for this new facility,” said Tom Albertson, regional supply chain operations manager for ExxonMobil. “This improvement in our supply chain allows us to remain focused on meeting the world’s growing energy needs.”
DHL Supply Chain ranks No. 4 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
