Diesel Price Rises 5.2¢ to $3.865

The national average diesel price rose 5.2 cents to $3.865 in its fourth consecutive increase, according to Energy Information Administration data released July 8.

Highlights

  • The average price for a gallon of diesel has climbed 20.7 cents since June 10.
  • A gallon of trucking’s main fuel now costs 5.9 cents more than at this time in 2023.
  • The average diesel price went up in nine of the 10 regions in EIA’s weekly survey, the exception being a 2.1-cent dip in the West Coast less California. The biggest gain was 7.4 cents in the Midwest.
  • The national average price for a gallon of gasoline ticked up 1 cent to $3.489. That’s 5.7 cents less than it cost at this time a year ago.
