Echo Global Logistics’ 2Q Profit Rises

Echo Global Logistics said its second-quarter profit grew 50.3% to $2.9 million, or 13 cents per share, compared with $1.9 million, or 9 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 37.9% to $151.5 million in the quarter ended June 30, compared with $109.9 million in the 2010 quarter.

The revenue increase was driven by a 33% gain in shipment volume, the Chicago-based third-party logistics company said in a statement.
