Firestone Launches New Severe-Duty Tire
Designed for all-position use, the Firestone FS818 tire is a durable option for fleets looking for long-lasting performance in severe service environments, according to a Bridgestone release.
Featuring a wide base design for higher payloads and flotation, the Firestone FS818 uses special tread compounds to help resist cuts, chips, tearing and irregular wear. The tire is designed with a deep, self-cleaning tread pattern for aggressive traction and long original mileage. Also, stone rejector platforms in every groove offer strong durability.
Other key features of the new Firestone tire include block sipes (or cuts in the rubber) to slice through water and provide solid grip on wet roads; four steel belts to extend casing life while providing protection from punctures; sidewall protector ribs to fight against cuts, snags and abrasions; and block design and edges optimized to travel in various highway environments.
The Firestone FS818 tire is available in 385/65R22.5, 425/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5.
