wo wireless technology firms said they have developed a system based on radio frequency identification that can track containers on a real-time basis.
Marc Moore, chief executive officer of tracking software developer DT Labs, Tampa, Fla., said his company developed the system with Helicomm, Carlsbad, Calif., which builds sensors for wireless systems, “after being approached by a group in Panama that was concerned about cargo security.”
Moore did not say how much the company will charge for the technology, known as CargoNet.
