Forward Air Corp. said its first-quarter net income rose from a year ago, and that its revenue also improved.
Net income rose to $10.9 million, or 36 cents a share, from $10.3 million, or 35 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 3.3% to $141.6 million.
Logistics revenue increased to $23 million from $21 million, the company said in a statement.
The carrier projects second-quarter earnings of 51 cents to 55 cents a share, compared with 48 cents in the year-ago period.
Forward Air, a contractor to the air cargo industry, is ranked No. 46 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
