The national average price of regular gasoline jumped 25 cents over the past three weeks to $2.30 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

The price is $1.49 below the same week last year, analyst Trilby Lundberg said following her latest survey of 5,000 filling stations, which is issued twice a month.

The lowest price was in Phoenix at $1.99 a gallon, while the highest was in Chicago at $2.63.

The Energy Department will release its weekly diesel and gasoline price survey Monday afternoon in Washington.
