Great Dane President to Step Down

Great Dane Trailers said Bill Crown will step down as president while retaining his position as CEO, effective Oct. 1.

Dean Engelage, executive vice president of sales and strategic planning, will succeed Crown as president, Great Dane said Sept. 12.

“Leading the Great Dane organization has been a rewarding experience,” Crown said in the statement. "I look forward to working closely with Dean and am confident he will continue to lead the organization to new heights.”

Crown became president in 2010 when Phillip Pines retired, Great Dane said. Crown will remain involved with business operations, but Engelage will be responsible for day-to-day decisions.

Engelage has worked at Great Dane since 2011. Previously, he worked for American Airlines Inc., General Dynamics Corp. and Great Dane parent company CC Industries.
