IMC Acquires TransInternational System

IMC Cos. has acquired TransInternational System effective Oct. 18, the intermodal logistics company said in a news release.

TransInternational is based in Worthington, Ohio, where it was founded in 1973.

IMC will be merging TransInternational System’s operations into Ohio Intermodal Services, Intermodal Cartage Company, DNJ Intermodal Services and Atlantic Intermodal Services, according to IMC officials.

By adding 200 TransInternational System owner-operators, IMC’s truck capacity increases and the Memphis, Tenn.-based business further grows as a marine drayage company as it expands its presence in the Ohio Valley, according to the news release.

Customers are served via nine brands: Atlantic Intermodal Services, DNJ Intermodal Services, Gulf Intermodal Services, H&M Intermodal, IMC Chassis Services, Intermodal Cartage Co., Ohio Intermodal Services, Pacific Drayage Services and Progressive Transportation Services.

The company focuses on intermodal logistics businesses providing services such as container drayage, truck brokerage, warehousing, chassis provisioning and secured container storage.
