Trucking Industry Analyst Says Favorable Economic Conditions Likely to Continue

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>LAS VEGAS — Tank truck carrier executives meeting here for their annual conference said they had recently seen a significant pickup in business despite high fuel prices and new government regulations, and a leading industry analyst told them the favorable environment was likely to continue.

“This was the most upbeat meeting I’ve held in the last five years, and it’s economically driven,” Cliff Harvison, president of the National Tank Truck Carriers, told Transport Topics.

Analyst Martin Labbe of Martin Labbe Associates LLC told the NTTC that this year there would be economic growth of up to 5%, “and that will continue for at least the next couple of years.”
