Jacobson Expands In Asia

Third-party logistics operator Jacobson Cos. is expanding in Asia through the acquisition of G-Link Express Logistics assets, the company announced.

Jacobson’s statement said its parent company JHCI Holdings completed the acquisition to give the operating company expanded capability in Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Terms were not announced.

Jacobson will operate in those four countries as Jacobson Global Logistics, adding to the company’s market coverage in a region where services also are being offered in Hong Kong and China.

“Our strategy to develop our international logistics business continues in the Asia-Pacific region through this acquisition,” said Brian Lutt, CEO of Jacobson.

Jacobson’s acquisition includes all offices, operations and services of G-Link’s Asian network, the statement said, without identifying what assets G-Link would retain.

Following the acquisition, Jacobson has operations at 16 locations in the Pacific Rim. Services that Jacobson offers include warehousing and cargo management.

The acquired company offered both ocean and air freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance and local deliveries as well as transportation.
