ATA President Bill Graves said he expects an “excellent turnout” for what will be the former Kansas governor’s first annual meeting as ATA’s chief executive. Graves was selected for the job in November 2001, but completed his second term as governor before joining ATA in January.

“I’m feeling optimistic about MC&E and the economy and where we’re heading,” Graves said.

As a teenager, Graves worked in his family-owned trucking business — Graves Truck Line — in Salina, Kan., and remembers attending ATA meetings with his father and grandfather in the 1960s.
