Mullen Buys Fluid, Oilfield Transport Firm

Canadian transportation firm Mullen Group Income Fund said Thursday it would buy the transport unit of Essential Energy Services Trust for C$135 million.

The purchase includes Essential’s fluid hauling and oilfield transport business units, Mullen said in a statement.

The fluid hauling business units operate under the name Cascade Services in northern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia provinces and as Jacar Energy Services in southern Alberta, Mullen said.

The oilfield transport business units operate under the names Circle D Transport & Rentals, Prime Oilfield Hauling, Polege Oilfield Hauling, and Leachman Oilfield Trucking in various regions in western Canada.

Mullen is ranked No. 77 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
