New American Trucking Associations President Chris Spear announced July 8 that the federation had parted ways with three executive vice presidents.

“We have taken our first steps in driving ATA in a new direction,” Spear said in an e-mailed letter. “Today is Karla Hulett, Jeff Mason and Dave Osiecki’s final day with ATA. Please join me in thanking each of them for their leadership and dedication to ATA over the last several years.”

Spear also announced that Elisabeth Barna has been promoted to the new role of chief operating officer and executive vice president of industry affairs.

Spear officially took over as ATA president on July 9, succeeding Bill Graves, who is remaining on in the near term as an adviser through the transition process.

Hulett, Mason and Osiecki were responsible for ATA’s finances, communications and advocacy, respectively. Mason had also headed Transport Topics since January 2014.

Spear said he has plans to meet directly with member companies about the future direction of ATA.

He added: “Within the next few weeks, I will be sharing my vision, outline strategies and moving this association forward.”
