Transportation company NFI Industries has implemented MacroPoint’s freight-tracking software within its brokerage unit, the companies said in a joint announcement.
MacroPoint’s software, activated on the mobile phones of drivers hired by NFI’s carrier partners, provides load status and location information, enabling real-time tracking, on-time delivery monitoring, and arrival and departure notifications.
“We chose MacroPoint to fill a gap in the track-and-trace function of our business,” said David Broering, senior vice president of integrated solutions at NFI. “MacroPoint gives us another tool to use to provide our carrier partners with options for updating us with the location of the loads they’re hauling.”
NFI, based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, provides dedicated transportation, warehousing, intermodal, brokerage, transportation management and trailer storage services. The company ranks No. 26 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
MacroPoint, headquartered in Cleveland, designs freight-tracking systems for shippers, brokers and third-party logistics providers.
