Penske Offering CNG-Powered Freightliners for Rental
Penske Truck Rental said it has 85 compressed-natural gas Freightliner Cascadia semi-tractors available for commercial rental use in select markets.
The day cabs are equipped with Cummins Westport 12-liter engines, Penske announced in conjunction with the Alternative Clean Transportation Expo, held last week in Long Beach, California.
“An increasing number of customers have expressed a desire to incorporate natural-gas vehicles into their fleets to further reduce emissions,” said Don Mikes, Penske’s senior vice president of rental.
“These rental semi-tractors allow our customers to field test the units and experience how they will use them within their daily business. If a customer wants a more-permanent solution, we can easily transition them into a full-service lease,” he said in a statement.
CNG trucks from Penske are available for rental in Southern and Northern California, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta and Baltimore.
