Pilot Freight Services, a global provider of transportation and logistics services, has announced the opening of a 44,000-square-foot multiclient warehouse in Salt Lake City. The space will bolster Pilot’s network of West Coast clients to meet consumer needs, especially in response to the continually growing e-commerce industry.

The warehouse is geographically situated to support two-day deliveries to most of the western part of the United States, without taking on the tax and financial implications of distributing out of California. It will operate five days a week with after-hours and holiday on-call capabilities.

“Influenced by customer needs and demands, we are pleased to offer even greater full-service, turnkey solutions to our valued clients on the West Coast,” President John Hill said in a press release. “We’re excited to expand our offerings in Salt Lake City, offering the Western market unsurpassed customization in their warehousing requirements.”

Each space in the warehouse is customizable to specific requirements by outsourcing delivery, packaging and transportation management to Pilot employees. Pilot also can operate as a third-party logistics firm, managing patrons’ transportation providers and their contacts.

Pilot Freight ranks No. 25 on Transport Topics’ list of top airfreight forwarders with 220,000 tons of air cargo shipped and No. 63 on TT’s list of top dry storage warehousing firms
