PS Logistics’ Blair Logistics unit has agreed to buy flatbed and heavy haul carrier Fluker Transportation for an undisclosed sum, PS Logistics said Nov. 11.
The addition of Hammond, La.-based Fluker marks the fourth acquisition announced in 2024 by PS Logistics, the latest move in the company’s long-term expansion strategy. Since 2016, Birmingham, Ala.-based PS Logistics has acquired 27 trucking operations and five non-asset-based logistics operations in the U.S.
PS Logistics ranks No. 28 on Transport Topics’ Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America, up from No. 33 a year earlier. It ranks No. 3 on the flatbed carriers’ sector list.
Founded in 2011, Fluker primarily hauls steel, construction equipment, and defense-related freight for the military. It operates across the southeastern U.S., PS Logistics said.
PS Logistics said Fluker’s freight mix and geographic coverage were highly complementary to Blair’s and were expected to provide immediate operational synergies. Fluker will now operate under Blair Logistics’ name.
Fluker has 40 revenue-generating trucks and 150 open deck trailers.

“We are excited to welcome Fluker’s flatbed and heavy-haul drivers and employees to the PS Logistics family,” said PS Logistics CEO Scott Smith. “Fluker has continued to grow in a broadly challenged freight market, which is a testament to the company’s commitment to its drivers and service to its customers.”
Fluker was founded by James Watson and Peter Walker. Watson will be staying with Blair.
“Blair and the broader PS Logistics network are going to be great partners for this business. Throughout the process of working with them, it became evident that they are committed to the drivers’ success, and I’m excited that Fluker will now be a part of a larger organization that will provide greater freight choices to our drivers and more capacity to our customers, and bring operational expertise to the business,” Watson said.
Earlier in 2024, PS Logistics announced its Diamond State Trucking & Logistics unit would buy Morton, Ill.-based flatbed carrier Yordy Transport for an undisclosed sum.
Yordy primarily hauls railroad, steel, lumber and building materials in the central and southeastern United States.

In January, Blair Logistics acquired the flatbed division of Kenly, N.C.-based ELS for an undisclosed sum.
ELS operated a fleet of more than 90 tractors and more than 240 over-length flatbed trailers, also primarily hauling steel, industrial materials, lumber and other building materials.
Also in January, PS Logistics acquired Buddy Moore Trucking, which also is based in Birmingham, Ala. PS Logistics said the Buddy Moore acquisition would enhance its flatbed, dedicated dry van and brokerage operations as well as diversify its modal and service offerings in the southeastern U.S.
Buddy Moore Trucking was founded in 1999 and, before the merger, ran a 130-truck flatbed division and a 120-truck dedicated van division, in addition to operating a non-asset logistics division.
In 2023, PS Logistics bought Jacksonville, Fla.-based Rinaudo Enterprises and another Birmingham-based carrier, Action Dedicated.
