Rand McNally Module to Help Truckload Firms

n official with mapping company Rand McNally said the company has released a new module that allows truckload carriers to incorporate lane-rate data with route optimization software.

Bernie Hockswender, director of sales for the company’s commercial transportation division, said the IntelliRoute Lane Rates module allows carriers to determine whether a particular load will be profitable, based not only on the destination, but also on the amount of fuel a driver will use.

“By having route optimization and lane rate information in [one] package, carriers can look for the most profitable route using one software package, rather than multiple ones,” Hockswender told Transport Topics.
