Drivewyze Inc. said Texas has added its PreClear bypass service at the state’s six busiest weigh stations and plans to activate service at 51 additional locations and 17 mobile sites within a month.
Those additions will represent the largest state deployment of weigh-station bypass services in the country, Drivewyze said.
PreClear uses cellular networks and the Internet to add transponder-like functionality to tablets, smart phones and certain electronic onboard recorders.
Drivers using the service may receive permission to bypass a mile before reaching a weigh station if the fleet meets the state enforcement agency’s safety standards.
Once fully deployed in Texas, Drivewyze PreClear will be available at 365 locations in 22 states, the company said.
