Trailer Industry’s Outlook Improving, Group’s Chairman Says

he chairman of the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association said he sees an improving outlook for trailer makers as they prepare for TTMA’s annual meeting April 5-9 in Phoenix.

“The economic signs for our industry continue to improve,” said Menno Eby Jr., owner of M.H. Eby Inc., a manufacturer of livestock and commodity trailers and truck bodies based in Blue Bell, Pa.

Ken Vieth of A.C.T. Research, who is scheduled to give a trailer industry forecast on April 7, said orders for freight-hauling trailers were up 4% in January, compared with the same month a year earlier.
