Semi-trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corp. today introduced its first line of dry and refrigerated truck bodies to meet growing demand for urban delivery services.
“We’re very conscious of a shift happening in the trucking industry fueled by re-urbanization and e-commerce trends,” said Brent Yeagy, group president of commercial trailer products at Wabash National in Lafayette, Indiana.
“Our mission is to help our customers be successful, and with our truck body line we can support them as they work to meet final-mile delivery needs.”
The new truck bodies are designed for Class 6, 7 and 8 chassis and will be displayed at the International Foodservice Distributors Association conference Oct. 27-28 in Phoenix.
Production of truck bodies and other related equipment will take place at a dedicated facility in Lafayette and will ramp up over the next 18 months, Yeagy said in a statement.
Wabash is a leading manufacturer of dry and refrigerated trailers, platform and bulk tank trailers, intermodal equipment, aircraft refueling equipment, structural composite panels and trailer aerodynamic devices.
