TransForce Inc., Canada's largest trucking company, said Friday it had a forth-quarter profit of C$35.6 million on higher revenue from its package delivery and specialized service segments, Reuters reported.
The Montreal-based company earned 37 cents per share in the three months ended Dec. 31. It had a loss of C$27.2 million, or 29 cents, a year earlier, Reuters said, citing the company.
Revenue rose 10% C$539.7 million. TransForce said its package delivery revenue grew 25%, while specialized services revenue gained 27%. Truckload revenue was flat, while less-than-truckload revenue fell 6%.
Profit for the year ended Dec. 31 was C$104.6 million, or C$1.09 per share, a major increase from the C$10.9 million, or 12 cents, the previous year.
Revenue grew in the year to C$2 billion, from $1.85 billion the year before.
