Trimac Transportation Ltd. said its first-quarter revenue and pretax earnings jumped, as its bulk trucking segment improved.
Earnings before interest taxes, depreciation and amortization rose 33% to C$10.9 million, while revenue gained 28.8% to C$93.1 million, Trimac said in a statement.
The increases occurred primarily in its bulk trucking segment, where revenue from acquisitions contributed C$17.2 million to the increase, and growth from new business, which added C$3.4 million.
Trimac Transportation, Calgary, Alberta, is part of the Trimac Group, which is ranked No. 42 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
