LAS VEGAS — Transportation technology supplier Trimble has introduced several product releases and updates across its trucking technology portfolio to help fleet operators improve efficiency, safety and productivity.

These rollouts include new features for Trimble’s carrier transportation management software, commercial truck navigation, asset maintenance, vehicle inspection and freight visibility offerings.

Michael Kornhauser, Trimble’s sector vice president for transportation and logistics, unveiled the new products Sept. 16 here at the company’s 2024 Insight Tech Conference.

“This industry needs connection,” Kornhauser said. “It needs connected people. It needs connected workflows. And it needs connected technology.”

Trimble’s latest product releases include:

  • Trimble’s new cloud-based TMS Order Module is designed to streamline truckload transportation management through machine learning, predictive analytics and commercial map visualization.

Truckload carriers using Trimble’s TMW.Suite and Innovative TMS products will be able to use this new order entry workflow to optimize their freight networks and reduce empty miles, the company said.

The product also includes Trimble Places, the company’s database of more than 5 million commercial vehicle locations.

Trimble’s new TMS Order Module will be available in the fourth quarter.

  • Trimble also is enhancing its CoPilot commercial truck navigation software with an updated user interface and new features such as predictive parking and trip planning to help drivers plan their journeys.

The predictive parking feature will provide drivers with live insights on peak hours and predicted parking availability so they can plan accordingly before arriving at a location.

“Truck parking is a giant problem in our industry,” Kornhauser said. “There just aren’t enough safe parking spots for our drivers.”

Trimble will offer the new navigation features on the Google Play store in mid-October and will be rolling out the update to its wide range of fleet telematics partners over time.

  • Trimble has relaunched its Road Call module for its TMT Fleet Maintenance software to help fleets manage maintenance needs for unexpected vehicle breakdowns.

The revamped Road Call, available now as an add-on for TMT customers, enables maintenance managers to quickly and efficiently spot disabled vehicles, find the best and nearest service center and generate repair orders to help reduce downtime.

  • Trimble also announced the launch of its Transporeon Visibility product in North America.

The product enables carriers and shippers in the road, ocean and air transportation sectors to access the real-time locations of their shipments and vehicles along with AI-generated information on estimated time of arrival.

The supply chain visibility product integrates with Trimble TMS products such as TMW.Suite and Innovative. Other integrations such as TruckMate will be available before the end of the year, the company said.

Trimble completed its acquisition of Germany-based Transporeon in April 2023.

  • Another new product is Trimble Inspections, a driver vehicle inspection report system for commercial trucking fleets.

This new DVIR technology provides a streamlined truck and trailer inspection application aimed at simplifying driver and back-office workflows while helping fleets improve safety and regulatory compliance.

Trimble Inspections is available through Trimble’s Instinct telematics and fleet management system.
