Trucking Focuses on Security in Year Since Terror Attacks

The terrorist attacks on America a year ago devastated thousands of families, slammed the economy, led to the international war on terrorism and forced a profound shift in Americans’ thinking about their own security.

And because the terrorists used airplanes to commit their massive murders, the attacks changed everyone’s thinking about the safety of every mode of transportation, including the millions of trucks hauling goods to every corner of the country every day.

The trucking industry has responded by tightening security, and it will be forced to deal with more new procedures intended to prevent trucks from being used in future terrorist attacks.



Trucking has also felt the brunt of the attacks’ economic impact.
