Commercial component manufacturer Wabco announced several long-term supply agreements with JMCH, a truck manufacturer based in China that is expanding into the heavy-duty segment.
JMCH is a subsidiary of Jiangling Motors Corp. based in Taiyuan, in Shanxi province.
Brussels-based Wabco said Aug. 19 that it will provide JMCH with wheel-end solutions, including air-disc brakes, as well as conventional brake valves, other brake components and clutch servo technology.
Wabco added its air disc brakes for commercial vehicles fit any wheel size from 17.5 to 22.5 inches across light-, medium- and heavy-duty applications for trucks, buses and trailers.
Additional agreements have been signed to support separate platforms in the future for JMCH’s new brands of medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Series production for those later trucks is planned to begin in three years for the Chinese market and for export to Southeast Asia, Wabco said.
