Wednesday Senate Hearing Set for FMCSA Nominee Anne Ferro

The Senate Commerce Committee will review the nomination of Anne Ferro to head the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at a Wednesday afternoon hearing in Washington.

President Obama nominated Ferro, who had been president of the Maryland Motor Truck Association, to head the agency in June.

The panel also will consider Obama nominee Cynthia Quarterman to be administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, according to the committee’s Web site.

Both FMCSA and PHMSA are Department of Transportation agencies.

Separately, the White House said Obama intends to nominate Erroll Southers to head the Transportation Security Administration, which is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

Southers was most recently was assistant chief for the Los Angeles World Airports Police Department’s Office of Homeland Security and Intelligence.
