NHTSA has opened an investigation into VinFast’s first U.S. electric vehicle model less than a month after four family members were killed in a one-car accident in the California Bay Area.

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric carmaker building a multibillion-dollar factory in North Carolina, has replaced its CEO and CFO in the company's latest executive shuffle.

Ground will be broken July 28 on North Carolina's first car manufacturing plant. VinFast plans a $4 billion electric vehicle production and assembly plant near Moncure.
