WASHINGTON — An increasing number of today’s interstate household moves aren’t executed by the nation’s 4,153 traditional moving companies, according to the newly formed Household Goods Consumer Protection Working Group, posing potential harm to consumers by unregulated firms usually found online.

Truck Driver Was Nation’s Most Fatal Occupation in 2015
A Bureau of Labor Statistics study revealed that 745 truck drivers died on the job in the United States in 2015, the most of any profession. BLS defines a truck driver as someone who operates a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds and has a commercial driver license. The 745 truck drivers who died was down from 761 in 2014.

Ohio River Bridges Tolls to Start On Dec. 30

FMCSA Removes Georgia Medical Examiner
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced Dec. 28 that 26 days earlier it had removed Dr. Anthony Lefteris of Atlanta from its registry of certified medical examiners and intends to revoke all certificates he issued to commercial motor vehicle operators during the past two years.
