Fran has been an editor or reporter for more than 20 years. Before arriving at Transport Topics, she covered regional business news, legal news and she covered the insurance industry for nearly 13 years. “Many people think insurance is boring. It’s not when it comes to reporting on it. It’s actually…quite fascinating” Fran said. On a personal note, she loves playing with her two amazing Dollface Persian cats. She is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. She enjoys playing the piano, singing karaoke, and watching the classic, old movies. Playing miniature golf with her husband is something she particularly enjoys, especially when she plays better than him (not too often but it happens!). She loves small towns and being near mountains. Finally, she thinks the best comedy TV show ever was Seinfeld. Period. As features editor at Transport Topics, she serves as editor of Equipment & Maintenance Update, a quarterly supplement to Transport Topics. She also co-assigns and co-edits weekly features that appear in Transport Topics. She also writes feature stories on insurance and the trucking industry whenever she can. During her time thus far at TT, she has a much greater appreciation for the trucking industry overall, its drivers and maintenance technicians. Trucking plays such a huge role in the U.S. economy, and keeping the nation’s freight moving from point A to point B is vital to it.
