SAVANNAH, Ga. — State and local governments are on track to give $2.1 billion in tax breaks to Hyundai Motor Group after it said it will invest an additional $2 billion to build an EV complex.

The U.S. Department of Commerce has awarded $742,180 to help a Georgia technical college pay for a concrete practice driving area for commercial driver license candidates.

Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution say they will spend an additional $2 billion and hire an extra 400 workers to make batteries at the automaker’s Georgia EV plant under construction.
