Gas Drops 4¢ to $3.66, Lundberg Says

The national average price of regular gasoline fell 4 cents over the two weeks ended Friday, to $3.66 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.

Diesel Slips Under $4 a Gallon

Diesel fuel’s national average price fell 6.5 cents to $3.958 a gallon, the 10th straight weekly decline and the first time it has fallen below the $4 mark in almost six months, the Department of Energy said Sept. 22, although a surge in crude oil prices added uncertainty to the outlook.

Court Ruling Green-Lights SoCal Ports’ Clean Trucks Plan

A federal appeals court Wednesday denied a motion to block a clean trucks program at the Southern California ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, allowing the sister ports to begin implementation of the program Oct. 1, the Contra Costa (Calif.) Times newspaper reported.

Diesel Drops 3.6¢ to $4.023; Gasoline Jumps 18.7¢ to $3.835

Despite a major hurricane on Texas’ Gulf Coast this weekend, diesel fuel’s national average price fell for the ninth straight week, dropping 3.6 cents to $4.023 a gallon, but gasoline’s average jumped 18.7 cents, the Department of Energy said Monday.

In a sweeping decision with possible national implications, the Environmental Protection Agency has granted California a waiver that will allow state environmental regulators to implement stringent new heavy-duty vehicle and engine onboard diagnostics requirements for 2010 engines and beyond.
