Diesel fuel’s national average price fell 9.3 cents to $2.422 a gallon, while gasoline’s decline slowed, the Energy Department said Monday.

Diesel fuel’s national average price fell by a dime to $2.515 a gallon, while gasoline fell 11.2 cents to near a five-year low, the Department of Energy said Monday.

The national average price of regular gasoline plunged another 22 cents in the two weeks ended Friday, to $1.75 a gallon, the lowest price in almost five years, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations released Sunday.
