Cost Falls for Second Straight Week After Four Consecutive Increases

The national average diesel price dipped 4.7 cents to $3.779 a gallon, according to Energy Information Administration data released July 22.

Highlights

  • Diesel’s national average price has dropped in each of the past two weeks, totaling 8.6 cents, after four consecutive increases.
  • A gallon of diesel now costs 12.6 cents less than it did at this time in 2023.
