Diesel Price Rises 4.1¢ to $3.602

The national average diesel price climbed 4.1 cents to $3.602, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration data released Jan. 13.

The current price comes on the heels of last week’s 5.8-cent increase, which marked the largest rise since a 4.7-cent upswing Oct. 14. Still, the current price is 26.1 cents less than it was at this time in 2024.

Regional Trends

Diesel’s average price rose in four of the five PADD regions in EIA’s weekly survey, with a 3.1-cent decline in the Rocky Mountain area the exception. The most notable change for an entire region came on the West Coast, which saw a 6.6-cent gain.

Gasoline Update

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline dipped four-tenths of a cent to $3.043. That marks a 1.5-cent decrease from year-ago levels.
