NFI said Tuesday it has acquired the West Coast operations of Gilbert Co., a subsidiary of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.
No terms were disclosed. This is the second acquisition that the Cherry Hill, N.J., logistics company has made this year.
NFI said it has bought six facilities in California — four in Chino and one each in Santa Fe Springs and Mira Loma. NFI’s warehouse space in the region now totals seven million square feet. NFI already has operations in Chino, Ontario and Perris, Calif.
“The acquisition enhances our capabilities in the apparel and footwear market and in our ability to bring an enhanced product offering to the retail sector,” Joe Roeder, president of NFI Logistics and Distribution, said in a statement.
Gilbert will keeping its Keasbey, N.J., operation. NFI is ranked No. 11 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of U.S. and Canadian logistics firms.
