PHILADELPHIA — The contributions of longtime executive director of the Oklahoma Trucking Association, Dan Case, who passed away last month, were recognized by senior American Trucking Associations officials.

During his state of the industry address at the Management Conference & Exhibition conference here, ATA President BIll Graves took time to acknowledge Case.

“Dan lost his courageous battle with cancer on Sept. 17. He was a fine man, a great state executive and will be sorely missed by all,” Graves said, overcome with emotion.

Earlier in the day, ATA Second Vice Chairman Kevin Burch, president of Jet Express Inc., remarked about Case’s passing.

Case died after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was 63. His tenure as the association’s executive director began in 2002. His career in trucking spanned nearly four decades. Case’s successor at the association, Jim Newport, spoke to Transport Topics about Case.

“He led the Oklahoma Trucking Association with the highest standards. Dan was passionate about advancing the trucking industry and made many, many friends along the way. He was a champion in every walk of his life. His legacy will live on through those who came in contact with him and the advancements he achieved during his career,” Newport said.
