Echo Global Logistics Inc. has reshuffled its management team with three internal executive promotions, the Chicago-based company announced.

Heavier allowable truck weights and greater competition in the railroad industry would improve freight operations and make U.S. manufacturers more competitive globally, representatives of large shippers told a congressional panel last week.

Third-party logistics company Radiant Logistics’ fiscal fourth-quarter net income increased from a year ago, the company said.

Trailer orders rose 4.1% in August from a year earlier to 15,780, the highest level in four months, ACT Research reported.

Consumer confidence declined in September, the New York-based Conference Board said Sept. 24.

Jacobson Cos., a Des Moines, Iowa-based logistics company, received approval for a $250,000 loan from the Iowa Economic Development Authority to move its headquarters to a western Des Moines suburb, the Associated Press reported.
